Whether children have a cooked meal or bring a packed lunch is entirely a matter of parental choice.

Dinner money must be paid in advance and sent to school, in a sealed envelope marked clearly with the amount and the child's name, on the previous Monday.
Any parent who thinks their child may be entitled to claim free meals for their child should complete Form CS/EB/1 obtainable from White Cross, District Education Office and returned there. If you are in receipt of income support, you will be entitled to free school meals and milk. Relevant documents will need to be shown to the Welfare Department, White Cross.

Children are encouraged to bring fruit and vegetables at breaktime. Sweets and crisps are not allowed at this time. Children should bring a non-fizzy drink with their packed lunch in a leak-proof, unbreakable container, not in a glass bottle or a can.

During the day, children are encouraged to bring bottles of water into school as drinking water has been shown to aid concentration. The bottle should be a Sports type bottle, clearly labelled with the child's name. Children are responsible for taking their bottles home at night and refilling them. Still water is the only drink allowed in the bottles.

Milk
Milk is provided for all children of infant age at a cost of £5 per term, which is paid in advance. Milk is also available for the older children but costs more and also is paid for in advance. At present the cost is 18p per carton. Refunds, in the case of absence of junior children can only be obtained if sufficient warning has been given to enable the school to cancel the milk. Infant milk is provided at a reduced cost due to an EU Subsidy
