Today we made puppets of our favourite book characters! Then we included them in our play which was great fun! Hope you like our puppets and costumes!
Year 1 were very busy this afternoon decorating biscuits with a drawing of their favourite book character! They were very good and looked very yummy!
This afternoon, we took our pencils 'for a walk' and sketched what we could see from the playground. This is in preparation for the 'A View from my Window' art project.
For our Friday Guided Reading session, the children paired up with someone that had a different book. Then, they talked their partner through what their book was about. There was lots of turn-taking and good speaking and listening. Well done, Year 1!
Here are four boys making 'Mario's Mansion' out of lego together. They are being so co-operative, sharing and taking turns to add things to their construction. There is lots of discussion about stairs and chimneys. So lovely to see and listen to!

Year one have had a lovely time making advent wreaths.
Today we had a delicious lunch with Yorkshire puddings, mashed potato, turkey and lots of gravy! We enjoyed it very much.
In Year 1, we have been exploring Non-Fiction books and identifying their features. Next week, we will be using what we have learnt to write an information page about the Great Fire of London!
Year 1 used their knowledge of waterproof materials to successfully build miniature umbrellas for Mr Ostrich (a toy in our class). Hopefully they will keep him nice and dry!
Year 1 has been experimenting with materials to see which are the most waterproof. There was lots of water to mop up afterwards!
