Today we were measuring how much our classroom objects weigh in cubes. Then, we recorded what we found out in our books. Glue sticks were the heaviest objects, unless you had one that had nearly ran out!
Our Science topic at the moment is Materials, and we have been identifying what materials we have in the classroom. What are our equipment and toys made out of?
We had lots of fun in Miss Whitaker's painting club this week. We painted some lovely dragons. What will we paint next week?
We have started our new English topic about Zog in Year 1. First, we explored lots of different types of dragons and thought of ways to describe them. We wrote some fantastic adjectives.
We have been learning how to make repeating patterns in Year 1. We can repeat up to 5 objects in a pattern. Well done, Year 1!
Year 1 started their continuous study of the seasons and weather this week. We went on an Autumn walk around the playground, noting all the different coloured trees and looking for any conkers. We found lots of soggy but beautiful leaves.
It was Mr Bear's birthday party today, and he was so pleased to see the children all dressed in their party clothes! He had a wonderful time. He can't wait to see what the children write about the party in their recounts later this week.

We are learning all about tens and ones now, in year 1. How many towers of ten are in a number, and how many ones are left all on their own?
We have been learning about the parts of the body in Year 1. I couldn't believe how much the children knew. They could even tell me where the heart, lungs and brain are! Well done, Year 1.
In Year 1, we have been practising counting from 0 to 20 and ordering numbers. I am very impressed with my class!
