Y1 Old Toys
Today we have been exploring some fascinating old toys. They were made out of wood and metal instead of plastic like our normal toys.
Y1 Multi skills
We are very lucky in Year 1 to have guys from Morecambe football club teaching us some multi skills. It has been very fun so far!
Jubilee Lunch! Y1
On Tuesday, we had a wonderful picnic lunch outside to celebrate the Jubilee, followed by an extra long playtime. Well done, Your Majesty, on your long reign!
Y1 Dodgeball for Wellbeing Day

Our first session on Wellbeing Day was Dodgeball! It was very exciting and lots of fun!
Y1 Geography skills
Year 1 worked marvellously together in their Geography lesson, in order to put a map of the UK back together. We used this to help us to learn the capital cities and countries in the UK.
Y1 independent writing
There are a few children in Year 1 who really love to write, and independently create wonderful little books for the class to enjoy.
Y1 ordering a story
We have been reading Percy the Park Keeper in class. Today we have been putting events in the story into the correct order. We worked in groups to organise the pictures.
Following Instructions Y1
Year 1 successfully read and followed some instructions today. We've also been learning all about 'bossy words'!
Identifying flowers
Year 1 enjoyed the sunshine this morning as we took our Science lesson outside to hunt for plants! There were some beautiful observation drawings produced.
Planting seeds Y1
Today we got into pairs and planted seeds in pots. I wonder which team's seed will grow most successfully?
Cathedral visit Y1
We had a lovely visit to the Cathedral. We went up on the altar and looked at the tabernacle. We asked lots of really good questions!
Y1 parts of plants
Year 1 have been learning the parts of plants. The children took turns in looking at the diagram, then returning to their group to draw what they could remember. It was interesting to see what the children came up with!
