Year 6 had a great day at Lancaster University las week - here you can see all the amazing activities they got up to as part of the 'Be the Change Day'

Year 3 blew our socks off on Friday last week with their resilience and determination. Every single one of them tried very hard and didn’t give up! Well done all of you! 

Y5 are going to be baking bread. We enjoyed tasting existing products.

Year 1 are all ready for their Nativity tomorrow and can’t wait for their families to see them perform. Here is a picture of each Year 1 child in their nativity outfits. 
 

Today, we went to the police museum. We saw a big blue gate that used to keep the bad guys in prison. We also saw a model of a police lady on a horse. We did a detective treasure hunt and we looked all around for clues and when we found them all we each got a sticker. Then we walked back to school…

Year 6 got cooking on gas this week as they peeled, chopped, sliced, diced and cubed their way to making the most soup-tastic soup for DT!

They learnt lots of great practical skills and their finished product was so tasty!

All of Key Stage 1 have been practicing hard for next weeks nativity. Today, Year 1 we wore their costumes for the first time. Here are a couple of pictures, more photos will be added next week of each child in their costumes.

Yesterday, in our science lesson we had some fun in the dark using our torches to create shadows! We tired to make some different shadow animals and some of us even tried to tell stories. 

Year 4 have been learning to play a melody called 'March of the Golden Guards' on glockenspiels. They have also used given notes to improvise their own melodies with a backing track. The result was very musical - albeit noisy! Well done, Year 4!

In science we’ve been planting seeds to investigate what plants need to grow well. We’ve put our plants in different places around school to see what happens if we remove light, soil, water, or put the plant in a cold place.

Year 2 had a visit from some local firefighters today. They talked to us about how to be safe at home, what to do if there is a fire and how to have a fire safety plan at home.
