Wraparound Childcare

The primary purpose of our wraparound childcare (breakfast and afterschool) is to provide affordable and flexible childcare to Cathedral families and allow parents/carers flexibility around the school day in order to fit in with work and family life.

Run by school staff, we offer a welcoming, safe and caring environment which puts the needs of the children at the centre of everything we do. Our Cathedral Mission and high expectations of behaviour extend to our wraparound care and children are expected to use these at all times.

Activities and snacks

We aim to provide children with a combination of enjoyable activities and time to relax after a busy and demanding day at school. The staff and children design the environment and activities so that a balance of adult/child led activities and play or rest opportunities are available each day to meet the range of ages, interests and needs.

Carb based snacks, fruit / vegetables and juice are available with the children encouraged to be independent in making choices and tidying up after themselves.

Charges

Breakfast club is based in the school hall and opens at 7.45am. We charge £3.50 from 7:45am. There is no requirement to pre-register your child to use the breakfast club and it can be used as flexibly as you need. Simply turn up on the morning, as often or as little as you need the facilities, for early morning childcare.

Our After -school club runs from 3.15pm until 6pm charged at £8.50 per session. This includes the snack provided.

Late fees

We appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can occasionally result in parents being late to pick up children from After-school club. Please ring school to inform us of this. In the event that this happens on more than one occasion, parents will be charged a session fee of £8.50 This debt must be cleared before any further sessions can be booked.

Cancellation fee

If your child is booked into After-school club and it is not required please cancel the place with the school office 24 hours beforehand by email on office@catheral.lancs.sch.uk or bursar@cathedral.lancs.sch.uk . If the place is not cancelled with the school office by email parents will be charged a session fee of £8.50 due to staffing costs.

Children not booked on After-School club

If children are not booked to attend After-school club and parents are late with normal school pick up, a £20 Emergency Supervision fee will be charged for every 30 minutes after 3.30pm. This debt must be cleared before any further sessions can be booked.
